It all started with a gift...

Designer and company founder Anna Michelle Wang got the idea to create kitschy aprons from her Aunt Grace, who suggested them as a follow-up to the previous years' well-loved and coveted Christmas presents: beautiful custom-designed wraps and happy pajama pants.

The immediate response to Anna Michelle's apron designs was too much to ignore. The idea of introducing a sexy fashionable accessory for the kitchen, or anywhere for that matter, combined with the current trend towards home entertaining and celebrity chefs convinced her to take the leap.

The first prototype had five different styles, multiple fabric executions for each, and was custom-made to match different personalities, ranging from sweet to sophisticated, high fashion to sexy. One friend exclaimed that her apron was sexier than a French maid outfit, another friend on the opposite coast wrote, "Phil loves it when I wear the apron, high heels, and nothing else."

Anna Michelle's current line gives a modern spin to this 50s icon. No longer tied to the concept of a mere uniform for domestic chores, this fashionable wardrobe essential has elevated aprons to become a prelude to domestic bliss, and most importantly, a personal expression of the individual who wears it.

Anna Michelle jumped into her adventure and made an immediate discovery. Her skill set covers a broad spectrum: corporate business experience in fashion and web producing, design sense from years of sewing her own clothes, photography, make-up, styling, and a huge rolodex of personal contacts, perfect for starting a new company! In addition, she's found amazing support from her angel investors, brilliant advertising creative team, friends, family, and JC.
